This past May, we traveled to Lexington, Kentucky to attend the biannual DIPG/DMG Symposium.
The Symposium brought together fundraising organizations, DIPG-affected families, and the leading researchers around the globe to discuss all things concerning DIPG. We heard from researchers regarding their current research projects, considered past successes and future funding considerations, awarded research grants to especially promising initiatives, discussed family support practices with current families in the fight, and much more.
The Symposium represents a unique opportunity to bring together medical researchers, the charitable organizations that fund them, and the families most affected by the disease. This level of collaboration is what drives the DIPG Collaborative forward allowing us to collectively pave a path forward with a vision of a future devoid of DIPG and cancer generally.
